We collect information at ‘open homes’ for both marketing research and security purposes on behalf of our selling clients. Gem Property Co collects your Personal Information directly from you unless it is unreasonable or impracticable to do so. When collecting Personal Information from you, we may collect in various ways, including through when you write to or email us, when you access and use our website and during conversations between you and our representatives;

  • Post DPID database, Titles Office or other property databases;
    government entities; and
  • referrals and recommendations from existing clients of Gem Property Co.

  • we may not be able to provide our services to you, either to the same standard or at all;

Why does Gem Property Co collect, hold, use and disclose your Personal Information?

While we cannot and do not charge an “application fee” for you applying to access your personal information, we may charge a fee for actually giving you access to your personal information in your preferred format (where reasonable and possible), which will cover our costs involved in locating and collating information as well as reproduction costs.

Privacy complaints and further information

We take your complaints seriously and will attempt to resolve your issue quickly and fairly.

If you consider that Gem Property Co has breached the APPs, or you have a complaint about how we handle your personal information, you are entitled to complain to Gem Property Co (see the Contacting Us section for more information).

We will acknowledge receipt of a complaint within 3 business days. We will investigate the complaint and attempt to resolve it within 20 business days after the complaint was received. Where it is anticipated that this timeframe is not achievable, we will contact you to provide an estimate of how long it will take to investigate and respond to the complaint.

  • Annually as a minimum.
  • Following an information security incident.
  • Following significant changes to our systems.
  • Following changes to the relevant State and Commonwealth legislation
